Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Level 1 – Foundations

Do you feel that you're trying to find a balance but your scale is often tipped to the stress side? Do you feel like you are a ticking time-bomb ready to go off any minute? Do you feel like you are running on empty or have been through a traumatic event?

There are several techniques and levels of relaxation and many studies documented on the effects of relaxation in the body.  Many of us walk around with unconscious stress in our shoulders, belly, back or other part of the body, not aware of the degrees to which these areas are tense.  Most of us cannot complete our daily to-do tasks and are often overburdened will responsibilities of family, work and life.

If you feel any or all of the above, then this training is for you.  Learn everything you need to know about the grounding and inherently restful practice of Restorative Yoga.  This training can be undertaken by yoga teachers, physical therapists, body workers, nurses, or anyone interested to incorporate restorative yoga into their person lives.

25 Hour Restorative Yoga Foundations Training Includes:

  • The history and lineage of restorative yoga
  • How to teach a restorative class
  • Warm ups to teach a restorative flow
  • How to protect your body and energy while assisting students
  • How to organize students, props, and space
  • Restorative postures and hands on adjustments
  • How to work with different body sizes, shapes, and abilities
  • Restorative meditation, pranayama and visualization practices
  • Prop hacks for when you don’t have traditional props on hand
  • Affirmations, sounds of chakras, and mantras
  • How/when to introduce a restorative pose into an active hatha or yin class
  • What is autonomic nervous system; sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system
  • How to apply the Relaxation Response
  • Energetic effects of restorative yoga
  • Neurological, psychological and physical effects of restorative yoga
  • Restorative assists; the art of therapeutic touch
  • How to use language to deepen the experience of restorative yoga
  • How to observe and address assist misalignments that inhibit deep relaxation
  • How to modify for specific injuries
  • Practical experience assisting and teaching a restorative class
  • Apply towards 300 hour certification or continuing education credits
  • Restorative Foundations TT Manual

Credits from this training can be applied towards the 300 hour Yoga Alliance training, leading to 500 hour certification.  This training can also be applied towards continuing education credits required to maintain your status as a Registered Yoga Teacher.

Lovely knowledgeable teachers. The owner is super nice and gets to know her clients.The facility is clean, had a comfy atmosphere and offers free tea to practitioners, the only dislike I have id that there is Buddah images and statues everywhere and not everyone coming to the studio may not be a Buddhist. It would be nice if the studios itself did not have statues, other than that it is a overall great experience.read more

I started attending Mind to Body Yoga & Fitness December 2018. The studio is very welcoming and clean. The staff are so nice and want nothing but the best for you. I did my Yoga Teacher Training at Mind to Body Yoga and it was one of the best decisions I've made. When you walk into the studio you feel a sense of home and community. I was in search of a yoga teacher training program and stumbled upon Mind to Body....its become my second home ever since. The yoga teacher training program was very detail oriented and definitely prepared for my yoga journey. They covered a lot of topics like anatomy and basics of ayurveda as well. I continue to attend regular yoga classes there now. They offer many various different types of classes..my favs are the restorative and yin classes. The staff is very inviting and friendly and the studio is very very clean and well maintained. The mind to body yoga teacher training program was a life changing experience. If I could give Mind to Body more than 5 stars I would! Since starting at this studio 6 months ago, all my aches and pains have been eliminated. That's due to yoga but more so thanks to the personable, caring, passionate and dedicated instructors. It's a blessing to have found a yoga studio where each class by any instructor here is taught with so much passion and bring their own experiences and way of teaching, teaching the right techniques and foundations of poses (grounding feet and hands) alot of others overlook when teaching. They don't ever ever ever make you feel like you have to do a pose they always tell you to follow your body. Love the variety of classes, started with Restorative yoga and now on to hot detox yoga which I didn't ever think I'd do. Mind to body has a great community of employees and members who are always friendly with a huge smile on their faces. It's been so great to connect with other members especially while having the detox tea, yum! Honestly don't know how they keep it so clean with so many members but it's immaculate and shiny. Floors are always swept and mopped constantly. Couldn't have found a more amazing yoga studio, love you guys for all that you do! I found this studio six months ago, after having searched for a calm and rejuvenating space for a long time.
